four dead, 30 injured in a battle to the death in Raipura

Tuesday, November 20, 2018 FOUR people were killed and 50 others injured in two separate clashes between two factions of locals in Raipura upazila of Narsingdi on Friday last. Of the dead Tofayel Rana -- an SSC examinee from Bashgari High School -- and three others Morom, Sohrab and Swapan were killed in gun attacks.  At first, two groups of villagers under Bashgari Union led by former Union Chairman Shahed Sarkar and the incumbent chairman Sirajul Haque attacked each other with sharp weapons and firearms. BTech student from TN hangs herself in Hyderabad

  Published:  22nd Nov 2018   4:56 pm Representational Image Hyderabad:  A BTech final year student was found hanging in her house at Lenin Nagar in Meerpet here late night on Wednesday. She is suspected to have been depressed and committed suicide, police said. According to the Meerpet police, the girl, identified as Pragathi (21), had stayed back at home while her parents went to attend a function in Tamil Nadu, their native place. While her parents were away, Pragathi was having dinner at her uncle’s house in the adjacent lane and stayed there in the night. She was also attending interviews at various companies while looking for a job. On Wednesday night, when she did not turn up for dinner, her uncle came to her house and found her dead. Meerpet police visited the spot and shifted the body to hospital for an autopsy. They suspect she was depressed over not finding a suitable job even after repeated trials. Further investigation is on.
