The critical condition of the 24 victims who were taken to Al Qarab Hospital in the Western Wall market led the Minister of Health to order them to be transferred to the Kenitra hospital for treatment. Three of them died, according to the director of Al Qarab Hospital in West Market.
King Mohammed VI ordered the transfer of the women from Quneitra to the military hospital in Rabat to receive the necessary medical care, and ordered the burial of the victims, their condolences, the costs of treating the wounded and providing support and assistance to the families of the victims.
According to eyewitnesses, the owner of the vehicle, which was carrying the female workers, tried to avoid colliding with a truck transporting sand, but he could not. He died with five women.
According to local reports, the driver of the truck was carrying the sand without a permit and was walking quickly to hit the vehicle carrying the peasant workers, only one kilometer from their arrival at the farmhouse where they were working on the berries.
The citizens who spoke to Haspres asked for the road accident to limit the excessive speed of the vehicles, especially as they knew the passage of trucks transporting sand without a permit. They also criticized the delay of the rescue teams.
