Residents of Jambi City, Jambi Province, were horrified by the discovery of a corpse floating on the river. The unidentified body was in a state of decay when the officer evacuated.

The discovery of this corpse is precisely in the Batanghari River, which crosses the Pulau Pandan Village, Telanaipura District, or a location better known as a drug village in Jambi.

The Telanaipura Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Jambi City, Iptu Budi Suwarto said the body was found by residents at around 09.00 WIB. The corpse floats in the river, so the residents immediately report to the police.

"Until now we have not yet known the identity of the corpse," Budi said when confirmed by reporters at the Telanaipura police station, Jambi City, Jambi Province, Friday (02/08/2019).

For the purposes of investigation, he said, the corpse was temporarily stored in the Mayat Chamber of the Raden Mattaher Hospital in Jambi. While the police will wait for reports of people who have lost their family members.

The officer suspected the body had died since a few days ago. Because, when it was found the condition had begun to rot. Regarding the cause of his death, the police are also still awaiting the results of the investigation.

"To Jambi residents, if anyone feels they have lost their family members, they can immediately report to the police and see the corpse directly, so that this case can also be immediately revealed," he said.

The body was found around 9:00 this morning by local residents.
The identity is unknown, while the body of the man was evacuated by the Telanipura jambi police.
