33 year old man identified as Carlos Augusto Pontón Loayza dies after jumping from waterfall in Ecuador

A 33-year-old man, identified as Carlos Augusto Pontón Loayza, died this Saturday, July 14, 2018, when he launched himself from a waterfall to Laguna Salto de Oro, in the Pedro Carbo canton, in the province of Guayas. After jumping into the water in a spectacular way the man did not leave the lagoon again, as recorded in a video that went viral on social networks. The event occurred when the Ecuadorian singer Diego Álvarez, Don Day, recorded part of a music video of the song Hablando con la luna. The body was recovered on Sunday, July 15, by police from the Disappeared Unit of Salitre. The authorities presume death by drowning.

According to the production team of the videoclip, the drowned man was part of a group of tourists who jumped from the top of the waterfall. In the video of the jump it is appreciated how members of the video clip production and tourists who enjoyed the spa resorted to the water with the intention of rescuing the diver, but they could not find it.
